GUMPTION?

One of Sunbow’s phrases is “Gumption is courage. Courage is strength. I am STRONG.” I came up with this phrase when I first started Sunbow two years ago for a few reasons; I LOVE the word GUMPTION and I knew I needed to muster up a lot of it in order to start my own business and stop daydreaming about my dreams, it was time to start making my dreams a reality, which is a process in itself full of time and effort.

Gumption is an awesome word, it does not seem to be used very often, but I believe it to be a powerful one! (It’s fun to say too!) Most things in life are not easy; they may be fun, exciting, fresh, sad, different or many other adjectives, but most always, not easy and certainly not effortless. Most ideas, dreams and goals take exertion, a substantial amount of exertion, and in order to really poor the heart and soul into anything that the heart and soul believes in, it usually takes gumption!

I just started a second business in this world of uncertainty that is happening right now. I do not want to wait around and see what the company I am currently am employed with is going to do, how long they will keep employees furloughed, holding my future in the hands of the company. I want to hold my OWN future in my own hands and THAT is not easy either. So I mustered up the gumption and courage to start this other business as another steppingstone towards my dreams and goals; because I am STRONG and I got this! I can do this. None of these choices have been easy and like I said, most decisions in life are not easy but I’m doing it with GUMPTION!

I am writing this blog to encourage others and to share the Sunbow gumption phrase. All of us have the capability to do ANYTHING, REALLY! It is about digging deep into the soul and using the strength, courage and gumption that lies inside of each and every one of us. What are your DREAMS? What are your GOALS? What do you want to do in this ONE life? Are you using your GUMPTION? HOW do you WANT to use your GUMPTION?! So many questions to ask oneself to start the dream growing process!

I like to say, “shoot for the pot of gold, even if you miss you will land on the rainbow”! That of course is my version of “shoot for the moon, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars”, which is also true! Point being, MUSTER up the GUMPTION to live a life worthy of falling in love with! Have the courage and strength to keep going, never give up, enjoy the journey along the way to making dreams reality and show others that with GUMPTION anything is possible! YOU DESERVE IT!!!
